AGASA Battlefield 2142 league

The EA, AGASA Battlefield 2142 league came to a dramatic end on Tuesday, 21 November 2006. The four teams that made it to the final leg of the competition was Advanced Special Forces (ASF), Assault, Band of Comrades (BoC) and First in Battle
(FiB).

With more than 70 clan games completed in a twoweek period, these four teams advanced to play in the final leg of the competition to a modified Swiss system. The games were always in the balance and made for some nail biting finishes.

In the end ASF kept their unbeaten record in tact, and won the tournament. This amazing feat also earned them National colours, and they will be the first team in the world to be presented with colours on Wednesday, 29 November 2006.

BoC and FiB had a titanic match on Tuesday evening to determine the 2nd and 3rd placed team. In the end, BoC claimed the victory and the 2nd place spot, with FiB making up the top three.

The winning clan, ASF, will fly to Taipei, Taiwan on Wednesday, 29 November to represent South Africa at the Asian Pacific Finals. This all expense paid trip was made possible by the competitions lead sponsor Electronic Arts (EA). EA is a leading game developer worldwide and Battlefield 2142 is one of their many leading titles distributed in South Africa. For more information, visit their website at www.ea.co.za
